Radish: AI Calorie Counter
Radish is a calorie and protein tracker for iPhone from Strategy Loom. Snap a photo of your meal and Radish recognizes the food on your iPhone, estimates the portion and counts calories and protein using U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition data. Photo logging is free and unlimited.
Logging a meal
- Snap a meal: tap Snap a meal and photograph your plate. Radish lists what it sees, then you check the foods and amounts before logging.
- Describe it: type or dictate what you ate, like “2 scrambled eggs, toast with butter and a latte”.
- Search: find any of more than 6,600 foods and add it at a typical portion.
- Barcode: scan a packaged food’s barcode to look it up in Open Food Facts.
- Nutrition label: photograph a Nutrition Facts panel and Radish reads the numbers.
Tap any logged meal to change the amounts, add or remove foods, log it again or delete it.
How the estimates work
Photo recognition uses Apple Intelligence on your iPhone (iOS 27 on iPhone 15 Pro or newer with Apple Intelligence turned on). On other iPhones Radish uses Apple’s built-in image recognition to name the dish and a typical portion. Portions from photos are estimates, so please check them; the − and + buttons and the amount editor make it quick to correct. Nutrition values come from USDA FoodData Central and, for barcodes, Open Food Facts.
Goals, progress and Apple Health
Radish suggests daily calorie and protein goals from your answers in setup (Mifflin–St Jeor equation); change them any time in Settings. Progress shows your calories, protein and weight over time. If you turn on Apple Health in Settings, Radish saves your meals and weights to Health and reads weights from your scale or other apps. Radish sets a maintenance plan for anyone under 18.
Radish is for general wellness and isn’t medical advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making big changes to what you eat, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating.
Radish Pro
Photo, text, barcode and label logging are free and unlimited. Radish Pro adds 30-day, 90-day and yearly trends, carb, fat and fiber goals, a weekly review written on your iPhone, a goal-date projection, spreadsheet export and extra app icons. Pro is available yearly (with a free trial for new subscribers), monthly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Cancel a subscription: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal or trial end date.
- Restore purchases: in Radish, open Settings and tap Restore purchases.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting your data
In Radish, open Settings and tap Delete all data. Data already saved to Apple Health is managed in the Health app.
